The City of Houston has signed the award letter for the 2015 HMGP Home Elevation Grant. This grant will provide 75% funding to elevate three (3) pre-selected flood-prone homes. The City is awaiting further instructions from Texas Division of Emergency Management (TDEM), the state partner for this grant program before initiating implementation of the grant projects. Homeowners who volunteered to participate in this grant program will be notified of the award by US Mail by June 21, 2017.
The 2015 HMGP Demolition Rebuild grant application is considered to be an alternate project by FEMA and TDEM. No award has been received for this application. The City’s 2015 HMGP Demolition Rebuild grant will only have the chance to be funded if other awarded projects withdraw from the program. There is no guarantee of funding. Homeowners who volunteered to participate in this grant program will be notified of the status of this grant application by US Mail by June 21, 2017.
